So it’s been a while since I’ve updated my San Francisco City Guide (due to the induction of new members and the release of Sins of Style 2) but I’ve manage to free up some time to get back on track with this long overdue update.
This week I present: Molte Cose. Located on 2036 – 2044 Polk Street, between Pacific and Broadway, Molte Cose is divided into two separated shops; one for women and one for men. It’s the latter which I found myself revisiting time and again during my brief two week spell in San Francisco.
The best way to describe it is a ‘traditional gentlemans store’; a treasure trove for all things that a stylish man of any age would desire. From accessories to furniture, clothing to alcohol, it’s an inspiring collection of hand-picked lifestyle products.
What really stood out for me was the quality of each item chosen for the store; they all complemented each other flawlessly and because of this, you’d feel that you were doing the store a massive disservice if you were yo leave with just one item!
Yet it’s so refreshing to visit a store that steps out the boundaries of just menswear and expands into lifestyle products. I was amazed at the wealth of quality vintage lifestyle products that Molte Cose has acquired!
The staff were both knowledgeable and friendly and more than willing to talk you through each and every piece. The atmosphere was reflective of many stores on Polk St – quirky, relaxed and very neighbourly.
My pick of the store would be their collection of vintage tie clips, but then again I’m a bit of a sucker for vintage jewellery!
