080 BCN FASHION WEEK: WHAT WENT DOWN!

Hey all! i recently attended 080 Barcelona fashion week and thought you might like to see more of the menswear i was introduced to during the 5-day event. I’d just like to say that i had a few preconceived notions since fashion from Barcelona is not very well known if we were to compare it to London, Milan, Paris and NYC and assumed that much of it’s designers kept it safe to appeal to Spain’s current economy and booming commercial market. But just being there, really opened my eyes to the talent that’s coming out of this Catalan capital.

Whilst some designers such as Pablo Erroz stick to simple staples with brighter prints, others play with silhouettes and materials giving a more contemporary feel. What was most surprising is the street wear styles throughout with Award winner CARLOATOAMS weaving a strong sports and casual tailoring vibe throughout in a colour palette of blue hues! You know i love me some blue. And designer Krizia Robustella using Hip Hop culture as a means for her collection with graffiti prints, loose sweat suits and big fur coats that could even make Cam’Ron jealous. Another interesting addition this season was the presence of british brand Lyle & Scott that showed a strong collection of denims, knitwear and printed shirting. There was even some nice performances by Miguel Suay involving break dancers and a Life drawing session at Manuel Bolano’s western inspired presentation.

Have a flick through to see some of my favourite looks and maybe this could widen your peripherals to the amazing menswear available in the world.

Dress with confidence,

John
