ESSENTIALS: THE CHELSEA BOOT with R.M Williams
To find a pair of long-lasting boots is getting more difficult these days, where commercial high street brands occupy most of the market with their cheaply-made alternatives and other brands focus on a wide range of different footwear styles that i guess seem more commercially viable. It’s widely known that when you meet someone the first thing they look at is your feet and what’s more embarrassing than a pair of shoes that look like it’s on it’s last breath. I’m sure there is a lot of things… but we’re stopping here.
I always say, build a wardrobe of staple pieces and your set up for life. And that’s the same with footwear and choosing the right pair of boots for both a casual and formal event. I’m sure some of you are aching for those army zip-ups and cut out sandals but why not go for a simple yet manly Chelsea boot. In particular a pair from Australian brand R.M Williams since their handcrafted boots come in many styles in many shapes and lasts, so you’ll definitely find one that will fit your foot size. Me personally, i’m quite wide-footed so i chose the Gardener boot with wider fitting last and a slightly higher sole profile for a more modern look. When it comes to quality these guys never compromise and each pair is handcrafted in the most premium leathers and in very rich colours. I mean, their signature Craftsman boots also come in Kangaroo leather which is one of the strongest leathers for it’s weight in the world. Why not? Also to note, i love the heel tabs which make for a very nice detail especially when you roll up your jeans or chinos. If you want to know more, head over to Liberty London this month to check out the collection and try on a few.
