In some cases, the Sandal can be deemed to be unstylish… even borderline FOB (Fresh off the boat). But where exactly is the cut off point of which a piece of footwear can be classed as unwearable in today’s fashion crowd. They say that the first thing a woman sees is your shoes… and from that the judgement ensues. I think it’s quite safe to say that if you’re dressed smart and dapper wearing a nice suit and shirt that you won’t be getting your pick of the ladies wearing cheap flip flops off of a market stall. And don’t get me started with slides…

But what if your oxfords we’re sandals? Or your sandals had a crepe sole and a nice leather upper with a monk strap closure?. I say, why not?… providing you have nice feet and ankles of course. Grenson’s latest summer offering is in the form of wearable smart sandals, some with the traditional leather soles of an oxford and some with a more comfy rubber sole. Both come in a nice grain leather and are great substitutes for a sandal if you’re looking for a stylish alternative to go with that linen suit you’ve been saving till the weather’s right!
