Farah began in the 1920′s, but like any brand back then building a dedicated following took a considerable amount of time. It wasn’t until the 70′s that Farah reached cult status, being the desired label of most of the fashion groups that dominated at the time. Mods, Skins, Sticksmen and Rocker-billys were all able to make a Farah piece of clothing their own, which is what we’re into here at Individualism.

Be Eclectic

Hey Guys welcome to another week of The Look.

This time around I wasn’t thinking of how to keep your backs warm, I was simply trying to pull some killers right out of the bag!

Plus I wanted to showcase some of the nicest pieces from spring/summer which are now live on most Internet sites and are currently being stocked in most retail stores too.

Check out this Hawaiian jacket from Heritage research. I’ve been keeping a close eye on this brand! They love exciting prints and it all seems to work well with their designs.

I also wanted to show you all this pork pie hat by Christy’s hats. I bought this the other day, it’s a real stunner and if you’re into hats a must have!

Last but not least those boots. There’s nothing much else to say about them other than … those boots!

So we’re officially one month into the New Year. Last night I sent a huge email out to the team to explain how grateful I am to be working with each and every one of them, as well as outlining my plans for Individualism moving forward through 2012. 2011 was a huge year for me both personally and professionally. However, the changes I’ve experienced with Individualism have easily been the most memorable, richest experiences I can remember.  We’ve had team members leave and had new members come on board. We’ve celebrated our 3rd birthday, which then lead to 3 of the most exciting parties London has seen in a long while!

We’ve been featured on everything from Hypebeast, BBC1XTRA and GQ to Grazia (a blasted women’s mag!) and will be in shortlist as well as a few others this year. We’ve had everything from people stopping us in Westfield saying they changed their university course because of us, to being stopped at Miami airports.

All of this wouldn’t be possible without the continued support from all of you guys. I’d like to take the time out and thank you all for choosing to spend you’re time reading and watching what we do and produce. We understand that the internet is getting chock a block with great content and you have the choice to leave whenever you want, so we appreciate that you have still stuck it out with us and we hope to bring you more entertaining informative men’s style content for years to come.

Now onto the purpose of today’s post. We all know beginning a new year is the perfect time to make changes and start to pursue new goals. One of them for me is to personally write a little more. Over the last year the team has grown and my time has been limited due to the amount of projects I’ve been undertaking, which has ultimately limited my posting input.

In 2012 I’m going to change that. I officially introduce you to my Editors Letter. Each Week / Month (if it gets too much) I’ll be writing a little bit about what I’ve been up to (which will hopefully be interesting enough for you to stick around past 3 seconds) and rounding up what we’ve produced as a team over that period of time.

So I’ll leave you on that note. Remember, ”There are no failures. There are only results”. Try new things, if they don’t work, learn and move forward. Just always keep getting up. Remember you can’t loose a game if you continue to play on. That’s all life is about. To 2012!

And I’m not talking about the kind you think I’m talking about…  not gorgeous leggy females, I’m gassing about bracelets!

We’ve been seeing this trend for a few seasons and unlike a sharp haircut its not fading at all. Stacks upon stacks of amazing bracelets in a mish mash of amazing fabrics and colours that make you want more are here to stay!!  With the summer months around the corner these accessories will be the perfect pop of colour you need to complete your outfit.

So this weeks POTW is all about this fab accessory and I’ve found you some fine specimens from Kiel James Patrick! This brand originates from Rhode Island, New England USA, this being the place where the brand found it’s original inspiration. I love this brand mostly because they come from a strong vintage background and you all know we here at Individualism are big advocates of vintage, and with their intricate weaving and engraved fastenings these pieces are just that extra bit special.

I’m particularly fond of the Triton collection (and let me just state here that this has no bearing on my fascination as a child with The Little Mermaid!) and the Turks headknot rope bracelet collection, with one of my favourite features of these being the anchor fastening. Aside from these Kiel James Patrick’s Archer wrap bracelet is also among my list of personal favourites and with six more bracelet categories to choose from, you guys will definitely be spoilt for choice! These pieces are very reasonably priced and are perfect if you love effortless accessories that make a statement. So run free and adorn your arms with these amazing cuffs, just make sure you stack them high!!

Allow me to introduce myself to all you fine people! My name’s Nikita and I am the new staff writer for Individualism!! (YAY) It has to be said that I’m extremely happy to be part of a team of such talented individuals and look forward to what the future holds!

Ok, so… Now that the pleasantries are over and done with, let’s get on with this weeks Product of the week!

Love or loathe them the “man bag” is most definitely here to stay and to be honest I’m slightly chuffed about that! Bags are one of my favourite accessories for men and can definitely be that finishing touch every outfit needs. However, if you aren’t quite ready to delve head first into the world of satchels and holdalls and like to keep it a little “old school” then I have a rucksack that you may love just as much as I do!!

Moleskines backpack is minimalistic and multi functional and its sleek design makes it one of those items you will be able to use for years! It has loads of storage space; removable straps and a rigid base allowing it stay upright when you put it down.
