Week 11 – LFW special

I thought I’d start by sharing some shots I took whilst attending London Fashion Week. The menswear day really brought out the cream of the crop, so in between shows, I battled other style spotters to give you a small summary of who wore what on that fine afternoon.

Stephen’s look is very simple, but the detail is what got me. The quality of his penny collar button-down shirt is amazing, so is the classic navy double-breasted pea coat. The different shades of blue are nicely complimented by the beige desert boots. The rucksack…well I’m a huge fan of rucksacks, and Peace Corps haven’t disappointed with this one.

Straight away it’s two thumbs up for the tweed, but the equestrian colour palette takes it up a notch. The rch burgundy brogues and the pocket square against the green of the tweed, and yes, another rucksack… I just can’t help myself, I’m a fan!

The Village Green – Carter Mac

British weather is reliable. Reliable in the fact that you never know what to expect.

That’s why during the months when it’s supposed to be warm, it’s wise to take a jacket with you, something that’s lightweight, that will protect you from the elements but won’t make you sweat out the Thames.

Last week was the beginning of our London Series, using iconic landmarks around the capital as the backdrop for our Product of the Week shoots.

Set against the majestic Tower Bridge, we introduce to you The Carter Mac from London-based brand The Village Green. It’s the perfect summer garment – a beautifully-constructed and stylish jacket. What more could a Londoner want? (bar sun)

Since the mac is such a timeless piece we kept the styling minimal, allowing the jacket to steal the spotlight. We began with a plain seersucker button-down shirt.

The red patterned tie adds a pop of colour to the outfit. We threw in a burgundy vintage leather case and a pair of slim fitting denim jeans to help keep the outfit from looking too formal.

We rolled up the sleeves to keep the jacket on the casual side as well as to highlight and show off the stunning seersucker lining. Finally, we popped the collar and tied the waistband to complete this cool and casual look.

This had to be the ‘Product of the Week’Â purely for its ability to turnÂ its boring old self into a novelty item. Now that’s news worthy!

This plastic zip top laptop bag by Mitemite, is designed to look like a folded newspaper. Every bag sold has a different print on it and is fully lined with black satin. Perfect for those of you that like to make a statement (literally).

It will be hard to lose this laptop bag! (unless of course you put it down on a Central line train seat and turn away for a second)

Patent Laptop Bag from Spider Bags

Yes, we know that the whole ‘PATENT’ thing is huge at the moment but who cares when the bag looks this good.

This patent Laptop bag is sexier than Claudette Ortiz, and she is NOT ugly! The red lining is the perfect compliment to the shiny black body (no sexual connotations intended). It sports both a handle and a shoulder strap. The perfect fusion of function and design and at a mere £15 a pop you cant go wrong.

P.S. That’s even cheaper than any food item in Westfield’s (f***ing rip off place! Why no Mac D’s?)
